Letter from Mr. Bestgen

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to the 2013-14 school year!  I am very excited to be a member of the Clarksburg School District. First I will offer a little background information on myself. I attended Missouri Valley College for my BS. In Physical Education. I have completed my Mater’s degree in Educational Administration and I am currently working towards my Ed. Specialist through William Woods University. I come to the district after having completed stops in Buffalo, Eldon and most recently Tipton having taught History and Physical Education as well as coaching various sports. I am excited to move forward in the Administration side of education and to be a member of the Clarksburg learning community.
Each member of the Clarksburg C-II Community including students, faculty, staff, parents, and community should work toward the common goal of making our school a place in which everyone feels welcome, safe and excited to learn.
Clarksburg C-II is committed to providing a positive environment for teaching and learning that fosters the desire within students to learn.  Our school believes that every student, regardless of race, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, socioeconomic status, sex, age, disabling condition or other discriminatory category have an equal opportunity to participate in all educational programs and activities.
The policies and rules outlined in this handbook are designed to protect the instructional time for each student so they can reach their full learning potential.  Please review the following handbook together so everyone in your family can support our efforts to provide a positive and safe learning environment.
You will find various forms located in the back of the handbook to be completed and returned to school as soon as possible. The last page of the handbook is a signature page that should be signed by both the parent and the student once the handbook has been reviewed. This page must be returned to school before your student will be allowed to participate in or attend any extra curricular activities.

We look forward to an exciting and positive school year.

Respectfully,

Nathan Bestgen
Superintendent
